Just a short drive away from the hotel, Knutsford’s Christmas market is a two-day festive street event, with over 120 traders per day. Of course, with Knutsford’s easy access to Manchester by car or public transport, you’ll also have the ideal opportunity to visit the famous Manchester Christmas market.

Well known for its fantastic treats and gifts on offer from world-famous traders and festive displays, the market is a yearly wonder that visitors can lose themselves in. Just a half hour's drive from the hotel, you can either park your car at Rochdale Road and walk to Cathedral Gardens to begin your market adventure or park at Hulme Street and walk to St Peter Square to see the large Santa Clause display. Alternatively, you can enjoy a short walk to Knutsford Train station, get the train to Manchester Piccadilly, and make your way to the markets from there.

Christmas at Tatton Park

A wonderful local landmark to explore any time of the year and just a few minutes' drive and walk from the hotel, Tatton Park will be hosting a collection of wonderful events to provide visitors with a Christmas experience to remember. For shopaholics, the park will be hosting a unique experience inside the Mansion’s Tenants Hall. In a wing of the stately building that isn’t usually open to the public, you’ll find local suppliers selling wonderful seasonal jewellery, candles, crafts and more. There will also be a magical pantomime performance in the staterooms, whisking you away to a new world of wonder.

Christmas at Bolesworth

Transforming its famous estate grounds into an absorbing seasonal extravaganza, Bolesworth will be celebrating the season with an outstanding festive wonderland. Festooned in seasonal sparkle and yuletide cheer, the castle and its estate will be home to almost every Christmas delight you could imagine. First, there will be a Christmas market with a host of seasonal shopping and food stalls, along with a stunning indoor Alpine Lodge, the perfect place to break from the cold to enjoy festive games, Christmas films and story time with Santa’s elves.

There’s also Rudolph’s Rest, where you’ll meet Santa’s trusty reindeer in Bolesworth’s enchanted woods, fairground rides to try, and the incredible Christmas Lights Trail. Bathed in seasonal colour and illuminated by thousands of lights, the trail will feature projections and interactive installations, as Bolesworth castle itself is transformed with colour as a dazzling backdrop. You’ll see spectacular light pyramids, lasers, glittering mirror balls and incredible dancing fountains on the ornamental lake.

Magical Woodland at Blakemere Village

Situated just outside Chester, Blakemere Village is built in and around a beautiful Edwardian stable block, with over 30 independent shops offering giftware, antiques, and furniture. For the festive season, the village will host a truly magical Christmas experience as the woodlands will serve as a natural backdrop of lighting and audio to create a unique festive atmosphere. As you walk through the 15 acres of woodland, you’ll meet wonderful festive characters, along with the chance to meet Father Christmas in his sorting office.
